Description

Job Summary:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Houston, Texas. This position involves performing high-quality routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures at the request of licensed independent practitioners. The specialist will integrate scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to produce accurate diagnostic information, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols. The role requires a detailed understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology, with an emphasis on radiation safety and patient preparation.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days; Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certificate in Nuclear Medicine, graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program, certification as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) by the Texas Medical Board, certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). A minimum of 3 years of radiology experience across modalities and the ability to operate and troubleshoot all required equipment, including automated processors, copying/digitizing film equipment, Radiology Information System, and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric patients is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Additional Information: The technologist will be responsible for patient preparation, medication administration, inventory management, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures. Articulate communication skills and professionalism are essential for supporting patients, families, and the healthcare team. The position requires independent scanning of patients following established protocols and maintaining confidentiality.
