Description
Job Summary:
Polysomnographer in Binghamton, New York. This position involves performing and managing polysomnographic diagnostic testing in accordance with established policies and American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines. The role requires excellent communication skills to ensure patient safety and comfort, as well as the ability to analyze sleep/wake data accurately. Attention to detail and vigilance in a non-stimulating environment are essential for providing high-quality care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights; 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Associate's degree from an accredited school in Polysomnography; BLS certification from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross; RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification; New York State Registered Polysomnographic Technician or Respiratory Therapist license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in Sleep Medicine.
- Responsibilities include reviewing patient information, explaining testing protocols, setting up and performing studies per policy and guidelines, monitoring patients for clinical and physiological events, performing titration and split night studies, and scoring studies in accordance with AASM scoring manual guidelines.
- Additional Information: The technologist must notify medical staff of adverse changes or unusual situations during sleep studies. Training new personnel and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the role.
