Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Radiology MRI Technologist in College Station, Texas. This position involves performing MRI scans utilizing Philips and Siemens equipment, with responsibilities including MSK, Neuro, and Body imaging for both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires collaboration with radiologists and adherence to safety and certification standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with a start time of 7:30 AM and rotational on-call duties, including weekly night shifts from 5 PM to 6 AM on weekdays and 24-hour weekend calls.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Certified MRI Technologist credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a Medical Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Texas Medical Board (TMB). A minimum of 2 years of experience working with MRI devices and 1.5 Tesla equipment is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Philips and Siemens MRI equipment.
- Additional Information: Candidates must have experience with device operation and managing approximately 10 scans or studies daily. The role involves IV starting, Creatinine drawing, and working with electronic medical records and PACS, specifically Meditech and Synapse systems. The department operates with 1-2 MRI scanners per location, and the MRI Technologist may be asked to float between two campuses if familiar with the equipment or if an extension occurs.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Performing MSK, Neuro, and Body MRI scans for both inpatients and outpatients, in clinic and hospital settings.
- Scheduling Details: Shifts start at 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with rotational call duties.
- Other Requirements: No RRA's are used, and radiologists are available on-site at hospital locations. Candidates must be able to start IVs when applicable, and scrubs are required (not provided). Candidates should be prepared for possible shift cancellations up to four times within a 13-week period.
