Job Summary
The organization is seeking a General Ultrasonographer for a position located in Covington, Washington. Job Details

  • Position: Ultrasonographer General
  • Location: Covington, Washington
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, typically Mids Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1300 to 2330, with options for 12-hour shifts; the shift schedule may vary based on department needs. The schedule includes a 10-hour shift with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Start Date: 08/10/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in BLS and ARDMS. Two years of experience with basic vascular scans is preferred; candidates with at least 1.5 years of acute or outpatient ultrasound experience are considered.
  • Preferred Qualifications: RVT certification is preferred, but candidates without it may be considered if they have at least two years of experience in vascular scanning.
  • Patient Types and Common Diagnoses: Outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department patients, ranging from children to geriatrics. The department handles high-volume cases including abdomen, renal, pelvic, appendix, intussusception, early OB (menorrhagia), 2nd/3rd trimester scans (anatomy, estimated fetal weight, AFI, BPP), small parts (scrotal, thyroid), elevated liver function tests, gallbladder, vascular studies (DVTs and extremity scans), and liver lesions.
  • Skills Required: Experience with diverse patient types listed above.
  • EMR: EPIC experience required.
  • Technology: PACS connected with Philips EPIQ Elite ultrasound systems.
  • Floating Requirements: The ultrasound technologist may need to move between the main building and bedside for portables and emergency department scans.
  • Weekend Rotation: Possible depending on confirmed shift schedule.
  • On Call: Two shifts per week; if scheduled for weekend shifts, weekend call is not required. On-call hours are from 2300 until the following morning with a 30-minute response time.
  • Dress Code: Any clean, not tattered or business casual wear with a lab coat; hoodies are not permitted.
  • Department Profile: Comprises 48 inpatient beds (low acuity PCU and MedSurg), an 18-bed emergency department, no ICU, three ultrasound suites, and one portable stationed in the emergency department. The department handles approximately 20-40 patients daily.
