Description

Job Summary
The Ultrasonographer Echo position is located in Macon, Georgia. This role involves performing cardiac ultrasound exams in a Level 1 trauma designated, teaching hospital environment. The position requires delivering high-quality echocardiographic imaging and supporting large structural heart programs, including TAVR and PFO assessments, to a diverse patient population including pediatric and adult patients.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Dayshift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certified as an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), BLS certification, at least 2 years of acute care Echo experience, 2 years of relevant experience, located in Georgia or willing to relocate
  • Preferred Qualifications: Fetal scan experience, stress test experience, comfort orienting new hires, ability to perform preliminary findings, experience with assisting procedures such as pericardiocentesis, and pediatric scans
  • Responsabilities: Performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, assisting with complex structural heart assessments, ensuring accurate measurements including ejection fractions, documenting preliminary findings, and effectively communicating results. Support will include navigating department technology and collaborating with cardiologists and other team members.
  • Technology/Equipment: Philips and GE ultrasound systems, electronic medical records utilizing EPIC and PACS (Philips Cardiovascular/ISCV/Intellaspace)
  • Orientation: Facilities and departmental orientation during the initial week, with buddy support available during onboarding
  • On-Call and Holiday Expectations: On-call required with approximately one night shift per week, response time within 30 minutes; holiday on-call only for major holidays, including eve of holidays and occasional holiday coverage as per contract; approval for up to 7 days of time off (RTO)
  • Additional Notes: Scrub color is black; parking is free; no floating required; support within the department includes other Echo technologists, manager, cardiologists, rapid response, and code teams
