Description

Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist position is based in Houston, Texas. This role involves performing routine and specialized radiographic procedures at the request of licensed independent practitioners for interpretation by radiologists. The technologist will utilize scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to produce accurate diagnostic images. A thorough understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology is essential to ensure quality and safety in all procedures.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Dayshift, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Technical diploma from a formal diagnostic radiology program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the CertificationMed Radiologic Technologist (CMRT), with a minimum of 3 years radiology experience across modalities.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of radiology physics and procedures, operation and troubleshooting of radiology equipment including automated processors, copying/digitizing film equipment, Radiology Information System (RIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Basic Life Support (BLS) and medical terminology understanding.
  • Additional Information: The technologist must demonstrate professionalism, articulate communication, and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, preparing patients for procedures, assessing contraindications, specifying contrast agents, and responding to patient needs throughout the encounter. Independence in following established protocols and maintaining confidentiality are essential.
