Job Summary
Cardiovascular or Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) Specialist in Erie, Pennsylvania. This position involves assisting cardiologists in invasive cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, right heart monitoring, and interventional procedures. The role emphasizes patient care, equipment operation, and supporting clinical documentation to ensure smooth departmental operations.
Job Details
- Shift Schedule: Days, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts, 7am to 3:30pm or 8am to 4:30pm, with on-call evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited technical program; Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred; 2 years of experience; valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred but not required; ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology certification, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentials are desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related cardiovascular role.
- Schedule: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities:
- Assist in imaging procedures requiring independent judgment and technical proficiency.
- Demonstrate proper positioning, radiographic techniques, and patient monitoring.
- Ensure radiation safety and aseptic technique during procedures.
- Support patient preparation, contrast administration, and post-procedure care.
- Document patient data, procedure details, and radiation exposure accurately.
- Operate diagnostic and interventional equipment, including fluoroscopy and monitoring systems.
- Communicate clearly with patients and healthcare team members to optimize care.
- Maintain imaging standards within PACS and electronic records, and ensure proper coding and billing documentation.
- Maintain continuing education and competency standards.
- Licenses and Certifications: BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; relevant radiology and core-competency certifications.
- Additional Information: The position involves supporting research activities, providing standby call coverage, and adhering to departmental protocols for patient safety and radiation management. Parking at the facility may be challenging; multiple lots and street parking are available.
