Job Summary
Palo Alto, California The Speech Language Pathologist (Inpatient) specializes in providing routine clinical care for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders within the healthcare setting. This role involves evaluating and developing treatment plans, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring quality patient outcomes through targeted speech, hearing, language, voice, and fluency interventions.

Job Details

  • Shift Hours: Days, 8 hours per shift
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours, minimum 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of an approved Speech Language Pathology curriculum with either a Master's or Doctorate degree; adherence to the Code of Ethics and performance standards of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; knowledge of evaluation and treatment methodologies applicable to routine patient care; active SLP - Speech Language Practitioner certification; BLS - Basic Life Support certification; California licensure or eligibility to practice in California.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an inpatient healthcare environment; familiarity with videofluoroscopic swallow assessments; ability to develop and modify therapeutic interventions; strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills; effective communication and documentation abilities.
  • Additional Information: The Speech Language Pathologist will assess and treat patients within the scope of practice established by regulatory bodies, participate in interdisciplinary planning, and contribute to program development and performance improvement. Responsibilities include documentation, discharge planning, and engaging with patients and families to ensure comprehensive care.
