Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) specializing in pediatrics, located in Redding, California. This full-time night shift opportunity involves providing critical respiratory care to a diverse patient population within an acute care setting. The role requires a skilled RT with critical care experience to deliver protocol-driven respiratory therapies and interventions.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend, some flexibility for weekly schedules, scheduled approximately 3-4 weeks in advance.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications including ACLS, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). A valid license to submit and a minimum of 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy in a critical care environment. Experience with respiratory protocols in an acute care setting is essential.
- Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience and prior work in high-acuity respiratory care.
- Additional Information: The role involves duties such as administering breathing treatments, conducting arterial blood gases (ABGs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and managing therapies like non-invasive ventilation (NIV), high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), inhaled pulmonary vasodilators, IPV, and PEP/PAP therapy. The facility operates with strict protocol adherence and utilizes the Cerner electronic charting system.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with rotations every other weekend.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to all areas except NICU.
- Floor specific orientation: 2 days.
- Common diagnoses: COPD, Asthma, Pneumonia, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).
- Additional notes: Must have experience with respiratory therapy-driven protocols. The facility features a Hospitalist 24/7 coverage and pharmacy services available around the clock.
