Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a healthcare facility setting. This position involves providing respiratory therapy services across various patient populations including NICU Level II, MICU, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Adult patients. The role requires flexibility to float between different specialties and shifts, ensuring comprehensive respiratory care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Location: The position is located at a healthcare facility serving inpatients and emergency department patients across all floors.
- Schedule: Night shifts, with working hours from 07:00 PM to 07:00 AM, totaling 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours weekly.
- Required Qualifications: Valid respiratory therapy certification (RT), American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in NICU Level II and the ability to go to deliveries and initiate Cpap. Comfortable providing respiratory treatments and managing respiratory equipment.
- Responsibilities: Performing arterial blood gases (ABGs) from radial or brachial arteries, administering respiratory treatments, assisting with intubation, managing respiratory equipment, and floating between ICU, MICU, pediatric, and adult units, including emergency and inpatient settings.
- Floater Requirements: Ability to float throughout the hospital and to sister facilities located 10 to 14 miles away, including mid-shift floating.
- Orientation: 1-2 shifts with a preceptor, including NICU/General and ICU training.
- Additional Details: The facility utilizes the EPIC electronic charting system. The role involves participating in a holiday rotation and every other weekend schedule. Call or standby call is optional with a 30-minute response time. The candidate must have a valid license to submit and a permanent address outside 50 miles of the facility to adhere to radius rule.
