Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position is located in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This role involves providing adult, pediatric, and neonatal respiratory care in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and various other acute care units. The position requires independent intubation skills and experience with ventilators, along with proficiency in multiple treatments and procedures pertinent to critical care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with an expectation of working every other weekend, alternating between Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights and Saturday/Sunday days. Holidays are scheduled every other holiday.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association, and verification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). A minimum of 2 years of experience, with preferred prior NICU experience, including ventilator management and adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient care. Must possess the ability to independently intubate for adults and have experience with ventilators such as Servo U, Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1, Phillips V60, and others. EMR proficiency in EPIC is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous NICU experience, particularly in Level III NICUs, and familiarity with clinical routines on adult, pediatric, and neonatal units. Experience drawing ABGs and performing various treatments such as oxygen therapy, airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage, chest physiotherapy, Bipap, Cpap, nebulizers, and inhalers.
- Additional Information: Floating rotation may be required, and each RT will have specific assignments such as ER, ICU, or floors with neonates, pediatrics, or adults. The role emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and providing excellent patient care with a focus on safety and clinical excellence. The position involves completing an orientation period with shifts lasting 3 to 12 hours and working in a hospital setting with a variety of respiratory treatments.
