Description
Job Summary:
Ultrasonographer General position in Bakersfield, California. This role involves operating complex ultrasound equipment, performing diagnostic ultrasound studies, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The ultrasound technician will also assist in training staff, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with physicians to deliver high-quality imaging services.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, mostly 10-hour day shifts, on-call shifts, including overnight and possibly graveyard shifts. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: ARDMS certification, Vascular and OB ultrasound experience, at least 2 years of acute hospital experience, Satisfactory completion of an accredited ultrasonic training program, and valid BLS certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience in vascular and obstetric imaging.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include documenting patient information, verifying informed consent, maintaining intravenous access, performing ultrasound procedures, assisting with surgical biopsies and aspirations, correlating clinical history with tests, and participating in final diagnostic sessions with physicians. The role also involves equipment calibration, education of staff and students, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
