Description

Job Summary:
Radiation Therapist position in Winchester, Virginia. This role involves providing daily care of cancer patients, including accurate interpretation and delivery of radiation treatments in accordance with the prescriptions and instructions of the radiation oncologist. The position may include performing simulations, assisting in treatment planning procedures such as tumor localization and dosimetry, and providing clinical instruction for radiation therapy students.

Job Details:

  • Location: 1840 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA 22601
  • Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • Shift Schedule: Dayshift, 10-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday, with schedule starting at 8:00 am and ending at 6:30 pm
  • Start Date: 08/24/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (AHA), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Virginia License or status of license (including VA Temp License with pending license), 2 years of experience in radiation therapy
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IMRT and 3-D treatment setup, knowledge of electronic charting systems, proficiency in treatment planning and patient immobilization procedures
  • Additional Information: Responsibilities include checking treatments and prescriptions, preparing treatment rooms and equipment, maintaining treatment documentation, and ensuring radiation safety measures are followed. The position requires working with oncology patients and collaborating closely with physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and social workers. The candidate must adhere to facility dress code (Caribbean Blue scrubs) and possess the ability to perform patient care and treatment setup with precision.
