Job Summary
Peoria, Illinois MRI Technologist This position involves working in the radiology department with a focus on MRI imaging. The role encompasses operating GE MRI scanners at 1.5T and 3T, following safety protocols, and managing patient imaging procedures during scheduled night shifts. The MRI Technologist will assist in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department settings, ensuring quality and safety in imaging services.

Job Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with start times at 6:00 PM, 2:00 PM, or 10:00 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; active BLS (AHA) and RTR (Registered Radiology Technologist) certifications; two (2) years of experience in MRI technology including operating GE MRI scanners at 1.5T and 3T, knowledge of MRI safety guidelines, IV start procedures, standard acquisition sequences, and familiarity with Epic EMR and PACS systems; understanding of outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department workflows
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MRI safety protocols, outpatients, inpatients, and emergency patients across diverse clinical settings
• Additional Information: The position may require covering outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department MRI procedures. Training on GE scanner types is provided through department-specific orientation lasting approximately one week, depending on familiarity with equipment. The department utilizes MRI assistant staff (RRA) at a ratio of one per 8-hour shift, and candidates must be able to start IVs. Scrubs are not provided; standard solid-colored scrubs are required, and tattoos must be covered. The role involves working one weekend per month, with potential call or standby duties not specified. The first day of assignment is scheduled for 08/17/2026.
