Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing respiratory care in an acute care setting, primarily focusing on adult patients with occasional pediatric cases in the emergency room. The position requires responsible usage of ventilator equipment and performing assessments such as arterial blood gases and electrocardiograms. It is essential for candidates to be adaptable and capable of supporting various departments within the hospital environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, start date 08/17/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Verification of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) verification, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult and pediatric patients, proficiency with draw ABGs, perform EKGs, and assist with intubations.
  • Float: No
  • Additional Information: Draw ABGs, occasionally do EKGs, assist with intubations, and provide respiratory care for patients including those with CRRT, IABP, CABG/AVR/MVR, TAVR, and lung surgeries. Uses Drager, LTV, I-vent, V-60, Vapotherm equipment. Both hospitalist and intensivist coverage available 24/7. The department provides a 2-day orientation and expects self-scheduling in a collaborative team environment. Candidates must wear maroon (wine burgundy) scrubs and utilize PAPR, CAPR, and N95 PPE as required.
