Description
Job Summary:
Ultrasonographer General position available in Covington, Washington. This role involves performing a variety of ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced outpatient and emergency department setting, with a focus on vascular, abdominal, pelvic, and obstetric imaging. The candidate will be responsible for implementing clinical protocols and ensuring accurate imaging for diverse patient populations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, typically including mid shifts from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM on Sundays, with additional varied shifts or options for 12-hour shifts, depending on departmental needs. Shift hours are approximately 10 hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 1.5 years of experience in acute or outpatient ultrasound imaging. Valid license and American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Vascular Technician (RVT) preferred but not mandatory if candidate has at least two years of experience in basic vascular scans.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department patient types, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, small parts, and vascular imaging. Proficiency with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC, and PACS system (Philips EPIQ Elite).
- Additional Information: Candidate must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with a wide variety of clinical scenarios, including imaging in emergency and outpatient settings. Floating between main building and bedside for portables and emergency department coverage is expected. Weekend rotations and rare on-call shifts may be required, with response times of 30 minutes when on call.
- Scrub Color: Any clean, not tattered, or business casual wear with a lab coat. Hoodies are not permitted.
- Patient Volume: Approximately 20-40 patients daily, with 3 ultrasound suites and 1 portable stationed in the emergency department.
