Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist in SALINAS, California. This role involves performing a variety of technical procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory under supervision. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate patient care, assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures, and maintain equipment used in the lab.

Job Details:

• Assist in performing diagnostic fluoroscopic angiographic procedures, coronary and peripheral interventions, and electrophysiology procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

• Assist in caring for patients before and after cardiac procedures, monitoring patient condition, and reporting changes to physicians or registered nurses for follow-up.

• Support preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and report malfunctions.

• Assist with supply management and ensure proper inventory levels.

• Work collaboratively with the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory team, understanding and fulfilling various responsibilities as needed.

• Initiate effective CPR measures and be familiar with emergency equipment locations and operations.

• Support implementation and maintenance of the quality improvement program related to radiological equipment and departmental initiatives.

• Follow safety procedures in utilizing equipment and supplies, reporting unsafe conditions immediately.

• Operate equipment according to procedural protocols, assist physicians during all laboratory procedures, and practice sterile techniques.

• Pull contrast media as appropriate for procedures.

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.

• Required Skills & Experience:

  • Graduation from a Radiologic Technology program or a Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) program.
  • Certification: CRT and Fluoroscopy for Radiologic Technology graduates; RCIS, RCES, or CEPS credentials from CCI or IBHRE for both program graduates.
  • BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience.
  • Epic experience: Minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months within the past year.
  • Experience with diagnostic fluoroscopic angiographic procedures, coronary and peripheral interventions, and electrophysiology procedures.

• Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • EP (Electrophysiology) experience, structural heart experience.
  • Supply management, sterile technique, contrast media handling, patient monitoring, and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.

• Education:

  • Graduation from a Radiologic Technology program or CVT program.

• Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • For Radiologic Technology graduates: CRT, Fluoroscopy, and a credential such as ARRT registration with CI credentials, RCIS, RCES, or CEPS.
  • For CVT graduates: RCIS, RCES, or CEPS certifications, and BLS certification.
