Description
Job Summary:
Polysomnographer (Sleep Medicine) in Chicago, Illinois. This position involves providing comprehensive sleep study services for pediatric patients in a sleep medicine center. The role includes completing diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies, scoring studies based on the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) scoring rules, and working within a team on nights, with weekend rotations. Orientation begins weekly on Mondays, and the assignment is scheduled for 12 weeks starting August 24, 2026.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, working from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT), minimum of 3 years of experience, and current documentation of FLU and COVID-19 vaccination doses with lot numbers.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ability to score sleep studies in accordance with AASM scoring rules.
- Additional Information: No holiday or call requirements, but weekend rotations are part of the schedule. The department comprises 2-5 staff members per shift, with no float rotation required. The team will work one week with an assigned preceptor before working independently. Equipment used includes Cadwell and Epic, and dress code requires scrubs. Orientation sessions are held every Monday.
