Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position located in Ohio. This role involves providing respiratory care in inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings. The position requires flexibility to work varied day and night shifts on a rotating schedule, with an emphasis on independent work and ensuring patient safety.

Job Details:

• Shift: Rotating, primarily night shifts, scheduled for 36 hours per week, with 3-12 hour shifts. Shifts may include days and nights with no guarantee of a fixed schedule.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential via the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); minimum of 2 years of experience; licensed to practice; willing to wait for license submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients; proficiency in topics such as breathing treatments, arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and ventilator management including Bipaps.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, primarily night shifts, with varied schedules in 4-week periods.
• Additional Information: Often work as the sole respiratory therapist on-site due to low patient acuity, providing breathing treatments, ABGs, EKGs, and ventilator support. The department utilizes Hamilton T-1 ventilators, Resmed Astral, and F&P Airvo equipment. The role requires assisting with intubations; independent intubation skills are not necessary. The department is staffed with in-house hospitalists or intensivists, and on-call is generally not required. The candidate will receive department-specific orientation.
