Job Summary:
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Unspecified Location. This role involves providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist within a skilled nursing facility. The position requires delivering patient-centered care, following established care plans, and utilizing various therapeutic techniques to promote patient recovery and well-being. The role is based in a setting that emphasizes clinical treatment and rehabilitation.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 32 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA); must be licensed in Vermont or New Hampshire; hold a valid drivers license; and possess agency-level auto insurance.
- Position Urgency: Quick Start.
- Location: 88 Prospect Street, White River Junction, VT 05001.
- Additional Information: The PTA will provide treatment to patients as prescribed by a physician and after initial and periodic evaluation of the patients physical therapy needs have been established by a licensed Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include treating patients within the plan of care to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity. The role involves directing and aiding patients in active and passive exercises, mobility training, activities of daily living, and prosthetic training. The PTA will utilize equipment such as ultraviolet and infrared lamps, low voltage generators, diathermy, and ultrasonic machines. Observation, documentation, and reporting of patient responses and condition changes are required. Teaching self-care techniques to patients and caregivers, arranging equipment use, and completing timely clinical notes are also part of the responsibilities.
