Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position in Richmond, Virginia. The role involves providing respiratory care to pediatric patients in a hospital setting, with a focus on fast-paced and dynamic environments. The position requires collaborative teamwork and technical proficiency to deliver high-quality patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) credential, current Virginia State License, current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in pediatric respiratory care.
- Additional Information: The unit has 430 beds, staff of 25, and handles approximately 20-25 treatments per round on a typical day. Equipment used includes oxygen, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, nebulizers, and blood gas machines. The EMR system used is Meditech. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with rotating weekends and on-call shifts, with one 24-hour shift approximately every 5-6 weeks.
