Job Summary:
A Nuclear Medicine Technologist position is available in Presque Isle, Maine. This role involves performing advanced nuclear imaging scans in a healthcare facility equipped with modern imaging technology. The position requires the ability to support a busy imaging department, providing quality patient care and technical services in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift times between 05:30 AM to 07:00 AM, with 8-10 hour workdays, dependent on daily schedule.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Maine state licensure, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine (NM), Dosimeter (Dose reader badge).
- Preferred Qualifications: Over 1 year of experience performing DEXA scans, Cardiac scans, Stress Rest tests, HIDA scans, Renal scans, Bone scans, PET CT scans; experience with Siemens dual head camera, GE IQ PET CT; familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) and Enterprise Imaging PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
- Responsibilities: Conducting nuclear medicine scans including DEXA, cardiac, HIDA, renal, bone, and PET CT scans; supporting the imaging department with technical expertise; ensuring proper patient preparation and safety protocols.
- Support on the Unit: Lead technologist and 2 support technologists per shift, with radiologist oversight on-site.
- Technology/Equipment: Siemens dual head gamma camera, GE IQ PET CT system, EMR: Cerner, PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA.
- Orientation: Two weeks of orientation, schedules dependent on individual skillset and comfort level.
- Additional information: Scrub color may be any solid color suitable for a professional environment or supplied by the facility. Parking is free. RTO approval required by management before time off. No weekends, no on-call, and no holiday expectations.
