Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric patients, including evaluation, treatment, and patient education. The position requires assessing patient needs, operating ventilatory and oxygen delivery equipment, performing diagnostic procedures, and collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid respiratory therapist license, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), high school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication skills, and 1 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification, experience working in a pediatric care setting, and proficiency with ventilatory equipment and pulmonary function testing.
- Additional Information: The respiratory therapist will perform routine and emergent procedures including ventilatory management, arterial puncture, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities also include documenting patient responses, communicating with medical staff, and participating in quality assurance activities. The position requires adherence to hospital policies and safety standards.
