Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Cytologist for a travel assignment located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The Cytologist will be responsible for reading Papanicolaou (Pap) and non-Gynecologic (non-GYN) slides, performing molecular testing on Pap vials, and grossing related specimens. The role requires demonstrating technical proficiency in all aspects of cytology processing, preparation, and staining, with the ability to screen an average of 40 to 80 slides per day.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accredited school of cytotechnology or an organization approved by Health and Human Services.
  • Cytotechnologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.
  • Associate degree is required; bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the cytotechnology department.
  • Ability to screen an average of 60 to 80 slides per day, with diagnoses within one grade of Pathologist or Consultant.
• Additional Information:
  • The traveler's permanent address must be at least 75 miles away from the facility.
  • Candidates or agencies must apply promptly through the Colorado state system; out-of-state agencies must register accordingly.
  • Ensure accurate Social Security Number and Date of Birth are entered in the Medefis system to avoid onboarding issues.
