Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatric Specialty in Portland, Maine. This position involves providing respiratory care for varied patient populations, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care patients within a dynamic, Level 1 trauma teaching hospital environment. The role supports the opening of a third Surgical Intensive Care Unit and increased Intermediate Care Units, and requires collaboration with a team of respiratory professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, weekly guaranteed hours of 36, with work hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Required Qualifications: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; NRP certification for NICU; minimum of 3+ years of experience; acute care pediatrics, NICU/PICU, and adult critical care experience required; valid state license or pending license review.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in tertiary, teaching hospital environments; NICU/PICU, cardiothoracic, and trauma experience preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, including NICU/PICU, adult acute, and critical care units.
- Additional Information: The position requires flexibility to work every other weekend and participate in call rotations (approximately one call shift per month or as directed by the department). Experience with equipment such as Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Ventor ventilators, and other advanced ventilator systems is preferred. Candidate should possess strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
