Description
Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Inpatient position located in Dallas, Texas. This role involves delivering therapy services within a post-acute rehabilitation setting focused on spinal cord injury (SCI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) care. The therapist will assess patient functioning, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery and discharge planning.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Certifications and Education Requirements: Must hold a valid, current State license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy
- Responsibilities include assessing patient levels of functioning, developing individualized treatment plans, supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, participating in discharge planning, documenting care according to departmental policies, and ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provides patient and family education about treatment and equipment use.
- Maintains appropriate documentation of daily progress, evaluations, and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
- The role requires effective communication, flexibility in scheduling, and adherence to safety and confidentiality protocols.
