Description
Job Summary:
Dietitian - Delano, California. This role involves providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents with special needs or those meeting nutritional risk criteria. The position includes conducting patient assessments and reassessments, patient and family education, interdisciplinary communication, development of nutritional care plans, and documentation of interventions. The dietitian will act as a clinical resource, utilizing technical and decision-making skills in a skilled care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent; Masters Degree (required only if eligibility for examination began on or after 01/01/2024); experience as a Clinical Dietitian; dietetic internship or its equivalent; Registered Dietitian (RD) certification within 6 months of residency program completion.
- Essential Functions: Performs patient assessments to determine nutritional risk, provides quality nutritional care, monitors nutritional intake, initiates interventions, conducts initial and ongoing nutritional assessments, evaluates patient response to care plans, and manages medical nutrition therapy. Acts as an educational resource for healthcare team members, patients, and families; orients and instructs new personnel; and provides direct and indirect data collection related to patient nutritional status.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The position involves direct and indirect data collection regarding patients' nutritional conditions and supervising personnel in data collection efforts. The role supports the organizations commitment to safety and requires vaccination compliance.
