Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Pathology Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland. This position involves performing gross examinations of complex surgical specimens, including dissection, tissue description, and tissue sectioning of historical preparation. The role requires attention to detail and proficiency in specimen photography and radiography as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification as a pathology assistant (PA) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or another approved certifying agency; graduation from an NAACLS-accredited Baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate Pathologist Assistant Training program with ASCP Board of Registry (BOR) certification, or completion of a Bachelor's degree with a major/minor or equivalent in biological or allied health sciences; minimum of 0 years of experience; must have prior experience in a hospital setting.
- Additional Information: Candidates must disclose any previous employment with any Johns Hopkins health facilities, including staff, PRN, or travel roles, regardless of how long ago. Verification of prior employment is required before an offer can be extended.
