Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Alexandria, VA. This 13-week assignment involves providing high-quality respiratory care to patients within a healthcare facility. The role requires evaluating patient needs, administering treatments, operating ventilatory equipment, performing diagnostic tests, and supporting procedures to ensure optimal respiratory health under minimal supervision.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours shift times, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Virginia license; current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; minimum of 0 years of experience in respiratory therapy; educational background as a Respiratory Therapist; location in Alexandria, Virginia.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric respiratory care; proficiency in ventilatory equipment and emergency procedures; prior hospital or healthcare facility experience.
- Additional Information: Provides intensive respiratory care, including operating invasive and non-invasive ventilatory systems, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring with oximetry and capnography, and assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care. Maintains accurate records, communicates with physicians, and follows policies for laboratory testing and equipment maintenance. Performs CPR according to BLS and ACLS standards and assists with emergency procedures as needed.
