Description
Job Summary:
Radiation Therapist in a radiation oncology setting is responsible for preparing and applying ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from Radiation Oncologists. The role involves operating all related equipment such as CT simulators, linear accelerators, QA dosimeters, diode systems, and computer systems. The therapist ensures accurate delivery of prescribed radiation therapy with minimal supervision, adhering to departmental protocols and established standards. Experience with Elekta equipment is a plus.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week starting from 08/17/2026 through 11/13/2026
- Required Qualifications: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, current CPR certification, 2 years of experience in radiation therapy, completion of 1 travel assignment, high school diploma or GED, completion of college coursework.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Elekta equipment.
- Additional Information: The candidate will float between Proton and Photon radiation therapy as needed and must have experience operating radiation oncology equipment such as CT simulators and linear accelerators. Prior employment at any Johns Hopkins health system facility must be noted in the work history and verified before an offer is extended. Candidates previously employed and applying as travelers must have been away from Johns Hopkins facilities for at least one year.
