Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position in the pediatric intensive care setting. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care and therapy to pediatric patients, supporting procedures such as ventilator management, ABGs, and various oxygen delivery systems. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Evenings, 8 hours per shift, from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, with a start date of 09/07/2026 and an end date of 12/07/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include AHA BLS and ACLS; active NE RT license; minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience on floors or 1 year or more ICU experience; High School Diploma; experience with ventilator management, ABGs, and electronic charting (EPIC system).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical record systems such as EPIC; familiarity with ventilator extubation protocols.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit notes specify non-billable orientation hours (12 hours), with orientation typically scheduled during the first week, including hospital and department-specific training.
    • The department is a Level 1 trauma setting, dealing with acute care and pediatric patients.
    • Equipment utilized includes V60 Bipap, Focus and Synchrony CPAP/BiPAP machines, high flow systems, and computerized charting systems.
    • Floating to other units may be required based on operational needs, with assistance always available.
    • Dress code involves wine-colored scrubs with logo wear for tops/jackets.
    • The employer has a 36-hour/13-week cancellation policy, with client notice of at least 2 weeks.
