Description
Job Summary:
Radiation Therapist in the RTT specialty working in a day shift setting. This role involves performing prescribed radiation therapy treatments following department policies and protocols. The position encompasses patient assessment, treatment planning, operating treatment equipment, and ensuring safety and compliance with quality standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical care as normally obtained through an Associate degree in radiation oncology or related field. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification required. Must be knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment relative to the area of work. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, and be safety conscious. Employees working at the organizations designated facility must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card during employment.
- Additional Information: Performs radiation therapy treatments by following and verifying referring providers' orders. Educates patients and families regarding the procedures and/or treatment. Operates treatment and treatment planning equipment, including simulation, in accordance with departmental policy. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures and performs equipment quality control measurements. Maintains a safe environment adhering to radiation safety practices and ALARA principles. Accountable for ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiation oncology practice, including confidentiality. Ensures departmental workflow operates efficiently and independently performs prescribed procedures. May direct activities of students and support staff at select facilities.
