Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT PEDS) located off the scenic Oregon Coast. This position involves providing basic and critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on pediatric care. The role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, ensuring high-quality patient care in accordance with departmental policies. The assignment is scheduled for nights, offering an opportunity to contribute to a dedicated healthcare team in a supportive environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential; State Respiratory Therapist and Polysomnographic (RT-P) license as required in OR; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; facility-specific certifications as necessary
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; three years' technical experience; Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification; additional pediatric or neonatal care experience
- Essential Functions: Conducts assessments and documents the appropriateness of prescribed therapy; administers aerosol and oxygen therapy; draws arterial blood gases; provides ventilator care; assists in department record keeping and staff training; performs pulmonary function tests and drainage procedures; supports cardio respiratory rehabilitation; instructs patients and families; monitors and maintains respiratory therapy equipment; assists with specialized procedures and equipment setup; ensures compliance with ventilator and infection prevention protocols; collaborates with physicians and staff to optimize patient outcomes
