Description

Job Summary
Mammographer in a teaching and research facility. This role involves performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures, assisting radiologists with biopsies and localizations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires technical proficiency with digital mammography equipment and the ability to provide patient education and support throughout the imaging process.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid CRT and Mammography Certification, BLS certification, 0 years of experience, and the ability to perform routine and non-routine mammography views.
  • Assists patients with mammography questionnaires and offers educational materials.
  • Handles paperwork associated with mammography procedures efficiently.
  • Assists with ancillary functions such as obtaining outside films, performing ultrasound-guided biopsies, wire placements, and specimen transport.
  • Records mammographic procedures and supplies in Radiology Information Systems.
  • Correctly acquires, manipulates, and transmits images via Picture Archive Communication System (PACS).
  • Develops mammographic films and matches images with interpretation paperwork.
  • Evaluates radiographs for diagnostic quality and acquires additional images as needed.
  • Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and performs quality control functions on mammography equipment.
  • Positions patients appropriately, utilizing immobilization when necessary.
  • Prepares supplies using aseptic techniques and explains procedures to patients to promote cooperation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, pathology, ultrasound procedures, and safety principles related to mammography.
  • Maintains compliance with all regulatory mandates for mammography.
