Description

Job Summary:
Radiation Therapist position in a healthcare facility located in Reno, Nevada. This role involves administering prescribed therapeutic radiation doses to patients, ensuring precise localization procedures, and supporting patient education and care. The position requires recent experience with TruBeam linear accelerators and provides opportunities to work in a leading trauma center offering advanced medical services.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: 3 years of recent TruBeam experience; certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy; current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Radiation Control Program license; licensure in Radiation Therapy; minimum of 0 years of experience, with 3 years preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to meet organizational needs, up to the staff members competency level.
  • Additional Information: The position may require working on weekends, holidays, and call shifts. Travelers may need to float within the organization and pick up additional shifts as needed. The role involves operation of linear accelerators, simulators, and electronic health records, along with proficiency in skin instruction, charting, basic dosimetry, and localization. Responsibilities also include patient education, support, and onboarding of new team members and students. Annual proficiency in core competencies such as body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, and CPR is required.
