Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist, PEDS Specialty, located at an acute care facility, offers an opportunity to provide specialized respiratory care within a busy hospital setting. The role involves delivering respiratory therapy for a diverse patient population, including pediatric and adult patients, utilizing advanced ventilator equipment and following established clinical protocols.

Job Details:

Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a schedule cycle every 6 weeks.
Required Qualifications: Valid license as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT), North Carolina Licensure, and national certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP. Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience with ventilator management in ED, ICU, PCU, or general medical floors.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IPPV/NIPPV ventilators, pediatric patient care, and resource team involvement.
Support within the Department: Respiratory leadership available for guidance and support.
Technology/Equipment: Proficiency with electronic medical records system (EPIC) and ventilator technology.
Floating: Will be required to float as needed within designated regional facilities, including multiple hospitals and emergency departments within the region. Floating mid-shift will be paid for travel time between facilities.
Orientation: Two days of departmental orientation prior to start.
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays.
RTO: Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays; additional time may be added to the end of the contract if hours are not met.
