Job Summary
Histologist HISTO This position is located at the healthcare provider. The role involves embedding and sectioning a wide variety of surgical and research tissue specimens, including autopsy specimens, biopsies, lymph nodes, breast tissue, and bone marrow. The histologist will perform tissue cutting, staining, and quality control procedures to ensure high-quality microscopic evaluation, working in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment.

• Shift Time: Evenings
• Shift Hours: 8 hours per day
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; ability to operate and maintain medical equipment; ability to analyze data and interpret results; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions; organizational and multitasking skills; knowledge of tissue fixation, cutting, embedding, staining, and mounting techniques; knowledge of infection prevention policies and regulations; familiarity with laboratory techniques; histotechnologist certification (HTL-ASCP) or histotechnician certification (HTN-ASCP) required within 1 years; 0 years of experience required.

• Additional Information: The candidate must be able to perform 50-75 blocks per day, organize and prioritize specimens, and work overtime as needed. The role requires active participation in departmental meetings, safety protocols, and team collaboration. The candidate should have foundational knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety standards, with capacity to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
