Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) for a healthcare facility in the specified location. The role involves independently providing respiratory care, pulmonary, and cardiology diagnostic testing to pediatric patients in various healthcare settings. This position requires collaboration with medical staff to assess patient needs and modify therapy plans accordingly.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Associate or technical degree; proof of passing the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); current license in the practicing state as required by law; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory care.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Performs all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
• Applies and manages mechanical ventilators, recommending adjustments to improve clinical outcomes and patient comfort.
• Assembles, maintains, and troubleshoots durable medical equipment and circuitry used in respiratory care.
• Performs pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing per protocols.
• Conducts patient assessments and evaluates responses to therapies, making clinical recommendations.
• Documents therapy accurately and comprehensively following organizational standards.
• Communicates and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to formulate and adjust care plans.
• Supervises department staff as applicable.
• Must be knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment, typically obtained through at least one year of clinical experience.
• Employees must possess highly effective human relation skills to interface with patients, families, staff, and other healthcare personnel.
• In the Home Care setting, valid drivers license and auto insurance coverage eligibility are required.
