Job Summary
Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Fetal Medicine Location unspecified. This role involves performing advanced diagnostic ultrasound studies in all trimesters, including fetal echocardiography, growth assessments, Doppler studies, and transvaginal ultrasounds. The position provides an opportunity to work closely with perinatologists within a high-quality independent fetal imaging center, maintaining and enhancing ultrasound skills in accordance with the standards established by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).

Job Details

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures including first trimester dating, early anatomic assessments, detailed fetal anatomy evaluations in the second and third trimesters, fetal echocardiography, growth measurements, Doppler evaluations, and transvaginal ultrasounds.
• Checks ultrasound equipment and accessories for proper functioning, notifying appropriate personnel for repairs when needed.
• Evaluates patient history and symptoms to ensure clinical appropriateness, communicating instructions clearly and professionally to patients and their families.
• Demonstrates and maintains proficiency in Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technician III competencies, utilizing technical knowledge to execute procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Completes exam charges and prepares images for review, ensuring timely submission to radiologists or interpreting physicians.
• Assists physicians in performing additional imaging or biopsy procedures when required.
• Maintains current knowledge through ongoing education to provide appropriate patient care for all age groups including neonatal, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Participates in quality assurance/quality control programs and ensures compliance with relevant regulations.
• Submits applications for additional certifications if needed.
• Schedule: 8-hour days, Monday through Thursday, and 4 hours on Friday, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required: HS Diploma/GED, Associates Degree in Ultrasound Technology or graduation from an accredited Sonography Program, current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification, BLS certification.
• Preferred: Two years of ultrasound experience, Nuchal Translucency (NT) Certification, Bachelors degree.
• Minimum Experience: 2 years.
