Description

Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Pediatric (RT PEDS) This position is located at the healthcare provider's facility. The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed within the scope of their professional license. The role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, educating patients upon discharge, and operating various ventilatory and respiratory equipment to support patient health.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Valid Respiratory Therapist license; relevant certifications in respiratory therapy; minimum one year of related experience; location requirements: candidate must be able to fulfill the shift schedule.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Performs routine and advanced respiratory treatments including operating ventilatory equipment, administering medications, and conducting patient assessments.
  • Performs procedures such as chest physiotherapy, suctioning, arterial puncture, and EKGs in accordance with policies.
  • Assists with procedures like bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.
  • Monitors patient responses and records treatment data accurately.
  • Maintains and operates ventilatory and respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function and repairs as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians and team members regarding therapy efficacy and patient status.
  • Records all treatments and patient responses accurately in medical records and respiratory care logs.
  • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
  • Performs insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes using appropriate techniques.
  • Records treatment data and patient responses during shift handovers.
  • Submits application materials as required for consideration.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
