A Polysomnographer in Oregon is sought to perform high-quality sleep studies and support the diagnosis of sleep disorders. This role involves operating polysomnographic equipment, administering therapies such as CPAP/BiPAP, and ensuring accurate data collection while providing compassionate patient care.
Job Details
- Position: Polysomnographer
- Location: Oregon
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with sleep specialty (RRT-SDS); recent experience in polysomnography preferred; BLS certification.
- Responsibilities: Maintain knowledge of all relevant procedures and equipment; operate polysomnographic devices; perform sleep study procedures including setup, staging, scoring, and intervention; fit and troubleshoot CPAP/BiPAP devices; ensure safety and infection control standards; record accurate patient data; communicate effectively with staff and patients; score sleep studies in accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine guidelines; administer oxygen and therapy per physician orders; participate in continuing education and training.
- Additional Information: The role entails participating in departmental training, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols in a healthcare environment that involves exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials. The position requires physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment safely, and the environment is fast-paced with variable indoor temperatures.
