Job Summary
Nuclear Medicine Technologist in the NUC (Nuclear Medicine) specialty, located in an unspecified area. This position involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing radio pharmaceuticals and equipment for the diagnosis of disease in designated anatomical areas. The role includes preparing and administering isotopes, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring patient safety and quality care.
Job Details
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, Massachusetts State License, Rad Tech (RT), High school diploma or equivalent, Graduation from an accredited radiography program, and 0 years of experience.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Performs Nuclear Medicine radiographic studies, determines appropriate isotopes, and reviews patient history and condition.
- Schedules patients to ensure efficient use of equipment and personnel.
- Prepares, calculates, and administers isotope dosages following departmental procedures and safety protocols.
- Monitors patients during procedures, reports any unusual occurrences, and maintains accurate records of radioactive materials used and disposed of, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Operates and calibrates equipment, adjusts parameters to optimize diagnostic images, and performs routine maintenance.
- Demonstrates operation and technical aspects of nuclear medicine equipment to staff and students.
- Produces diagnostic images with automatic developing equipment, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintains a clean environment with daily procedures and proper disposal of radioactive materials.
- Participates in continuing education to meet licensure requirements and contributes to the evaluation of new procedures.
- Maintains professional relationships with staff, patients, and visitors, upholding organizational standards of compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service.
