Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Pediatric (RT PEDS) Night shift Location: Not specified. This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric patients within a healthcare facility. The position requires evaluating patients, conducting treatments, and educating patients and families on discharge procedures. The Respiratory Therapist will operate various ventilatory equipment, perform diagnostic tests, and assist with procedures related to respiratory care.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) certification, with a minimum of 0 years of experience required.
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include providing intensive respiratory care such as operating ventilatory and nebulizer devices, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring with oximetry and capnography, reviewing chest x-rays, conducting pulmonary function tests, assisting with procedures like bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, performing tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, and operating ventilatory equipment.
- Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
- Responsible for accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses, communication with physicians, and maintaining equipment.
- Performs insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes and provides ventilatory support.
- Ensures proper maintenance and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the care team and adhere to all policies regarding laboratory testing and treatment documentation.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
