Description
Job Summary:
Pharmacist Inpatient (PHARM IP) Location: Not specified. This inpatient pharmacy role involves providing comprehensive medication management and support within a busy healthcare facility. The pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, monitoring drug therapies, and collaborating with clinical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
Job Details:
- Education/Skills: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree required. Pharmacist state licensure required. BLS certification via AHA required, ACLS certification preferred.
- Schedule: Multiple shifts available, varying between 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts depending on the day. Shift options include 7AM-3:30PM, 8AM-4:30PM, 1PM-9PM, 2PM-10PM, 7AM-5PM, 11AM-9PM, 12noon-10PM, 7AM-7PM, or 8AM-8PM.
- Responsibilities include preparing and dispensing drug orders, interpreting drug orders, maintaining accurate patient drug records, compounding pharmaceutical products, issuing controlled substances, and providing clinical consultation.
- Clinical duties encompass medication therapy management, anticoagulation management, patient education, and participation in interdisciplinary rounds.
- Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify daily activities of pharmacy technicians.
- Attend staff meetings and complete all required competency and skills assessments.
- Position available for full-time employment, starting ASAP, with a possibility of permanent placement.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings and treating ICU patients, cardiac catheterization labs, emergency departments, behavioral health units, and orthopedic surgery is preferred.
- No on-call requirement. No floating required.
