Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) on the Nights shift at a healthcare facility in the region. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients, including ventilatory support, diagnostic procedures, and airway management. The role requires collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provides Respiratory Care to neonatal and pediatric patients. Identifies acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction, initiates and provides ventilatory support, recommends ventilator settings, and executes lung protective strategies. Performs diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas (ABG) draws, sputum specimen collection, bedside spirometry, and capnography. Monitors respiratory conditions during transport within the hospital and to external facilities. Attends emergencies such as Codes and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs), assists with conscious sedations, intubations, and bronchoscopies. Administers therapeutic gases and participates in airway clearance therapies. Maintains artificial airways and aids in all treatment modalities used to care for neonatal and pediatric populations.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Massachusetts state licensure in Respiratory Therapy, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and 12-hour shift availability with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Minimum one-year critical care experience.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Demonstrates excellent bedside manner, maintains equipment and supplies, participates in multidisciplinary rounds, provides supervision and training, responds promptly to requests, and ensures accurate documentation and billing.
