Job Summary
Ultrasonographer General in the en_US This position involves performing a wide range of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and some vascular exams. The role requires interaction with patients and medical personnel, as well as assisting physicians during invasive procedures. The assignment duration is approximately 26 weeks, with a start date of September 28, 2026.

Job Details

  • Required Qualifications: ARDMS certification; must have experience in transplants, dopplers, and renal artery stenosis; minimum of 3 years of experience; location requirements: must reside outside 50 miles from the facility; schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
  • Performs a wide range of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and vascular exams.
  • Reviews charts, selects equipment and transducers, and interviews patients to gather necessary information.
  • Assists with sterile invasive procedures such as amniocenteses, cyst punctures, thoracenteses, and biopsies.
  • Views screen, detects pathology, determines appropriate images for diagnostic purposes, and records images on PACS.
  • Provides preliminary interpretation and may convey this to the requesting physician after discussion with a radiologist.
  • Performs functions outside the ultrasound suite, including in operating rooms, intensive care units, emergency departments, and nursing floors, using portable ultrasound equipment.
  • Shares on-call duties (24-hour coverage) with fellow sonographers after reaching required expertise.
  • Serves as a technical resource for training and guidance of team members.
  • Performs high-level disinfection of ultrasounds transducers using systems such as the Trophon EPR.
  • No local travelers accepted (cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility).
  • Start date: ASAP, with orientation scheduled weekly.
  • Please provide dates and times available for interview at time of submission.
  • RTO requests must be presented at the time of application; no more than one week of time off will be approved.
  • Travelers who have worked for the organization within the last six months as perm or per diem will not be considered unless separated for six months.
