Job Summary
Radiation Therapist in the RTT specialty located in the Los Angeles area. This position involves administering ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians, ensuring safety protocols and maintaining accurate treatment records.

Job Details

Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in radiological technology or equivalent; Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT); Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T); Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; Experience in radiologic technology; Basic Life Support (BLS or equivalent) certification.
Essential Functions: Delivers prescribed radiation therapy by verifying prescriptions, diagnosing charts, and properly identifying patients. Explains procedures, communicates during treatment, and administers daily doses while adhering to radiation safety measures. Prepares treatment rooms and equipment, assists with patient immobilization, transfers patients to treatment couches, and observes for adverse reactions or complications during treatment. Maintains detailed records, reviews patient charts to prevent errors, and performs clinical supervision and evaluation of students involved in procedures.
