Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Location: Not specified. This role involves providing respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients within the healthcare organization. The position requires delivering ventilatory support, performing diagnostic procedures, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Provides respiratory care to patients, identifying acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction, initiating ventilatory support, recommending ventilator settings, and following department protocols. Performs diagnostic procedures such as ABG draws and sputum specimen collection. Monitors patient respiratory condition during transport, attends codes and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs), assists with conscious sedations and intubations, and administers therapeutic gases. Assists with bronchoscopies in various settings, manages artificial airways, suctioning, and airway clearance devices, and administers aerosolized medications. Maintains equipment, documents accurately, and participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT); Massachusetts state licensure in Respiratory Therapy; Current BLS certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience preferred; Experience requirement: 0 years; Minimum experience: 0 years.
  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, Minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Demonstrates excellent bedside manner, interacts professionally with staff and patients, maintains equipment and supplies, and attends educational programs to enhance professional growth. Performs other work-related duties as requested/assigned.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
