Job Summary
Radiation Therapist in Radiation Oncology located in an unspecified area. This role involves performing radiation therapy procedures under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, including assisting with examinations and operating therapeutic equipment. The position requires delivering prescribed doses of external beam and radioactive elements across various treatment and exam areas within the radiation oncology department.

Job Details

  • Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, satisfactory completion of formal training in radiation therapy in an AMA approved school, South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiation Therapist certification, ARRT Radiation Therapy (T) certification, BLS through the American Heart Association, and at least one year of relevant radiation therapy experience.
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, within the hours of 7 am to 6 pm.
  • Additional Information: Performs clinical simulations on treatment machines and CT simulators, fabricates patient immobilization devices, maintains electronic medical records of treatments, explains procedures to patients, and monitors for treatment complications. Interacts with patients, their families, and departmental staff, ensuring quality care. Must handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, work independently, and maintain a professional appearance.
