Job Summary
Ultrasonographer Echo, ULTRA ECHO Located within the Heart Center, this role involves performing adult and pediatric echocardiograms in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position requires high-quality imaging, timely procedures, and adherence to department standards, supporting diagnostic accuracy for cardiovascular care.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS Certification, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) via American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography; 2 years of experience required.
- Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Performs adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs); may include stress echocardiograms, dobutamine stress, and pediatric echocardiograms (low volume). Utilizes two-dimensional, M-mode, Doppler, and contrast imaging; sets up and assists with transesophageal procedures; manages digital archiving; and ensures accurate, timely documentation.
- Additional Information: Rotates on-call and standby with other technologists. The department operates within the Heart Center with five ultrasound machines and three outpatient rooms. Department uses Meditech and CPACS systems and is staffed daily by a lead sonographer and in-house cardiologists during business hours with on-call coverage for non-business hours. Scrubs are required; department provides options, but wearing personal scrubs is permitted.
